Splat Arena: how to play, modes, classes and tips
Splat Arena is GamezStrike's own top-down arena shooter. Paint blobs come at you in waves. After each wave you pick an upgrade card, and every few waves a boss arrives. Play solo, team up in online co-op, or fight a friend in versus. It is free and runs in your browser.

How to play Splat Arena
Move with W A S D (or Z Q S D, or the arrow keys), aim with the mouse and hold click to shoot. Space dashes out of trouble, E places a tower once you have the tower card, and P pauses. On phones and tablets the controls appear on the screen.
Clear the wave, then choose one of three upgrade cards. Cards stack, so a run gets stronger and stranger the longer you survive.
Game modes
| Mode | How it works |
|---|---|
| 🎯 Classic | Survive waves and pick a card after each one. A boss shows up every 5 waves. |
| 👑 Boss Rush | Every wave is a boss fight. You start with 3 cards, and legendaries show up a lot more. |
| 📅 Daily | The same arena and setup for everyone, once a day. |
| 💀 Hardcore | Blobs hit twice as hard and nothing drops health. Every point counts 1.5×. |
| 🤝 Co-op | Play the waves together online with friends. |
| ⚔️ Versus | Fight other players online. |
Classes
| Class | Style |
|---|---|
| 🎨 Painter | Balanced, no tricks. The best class to learn with. |
| 🎯 Sniper | Slow shots that hit very hard and go through blobs. |
| 💥 Shotgunner | Wide spread of shots and a blast when you dash. |
| 🛡️ Tank | +60 health and thorns, but moves slower. |
| 🤖 Summoner | Starts with a drone buddy that shoots for you. |
Upgrade cards
There are more than 60 upgrade cards in five rarities: common, rare, epic, legendary and mythic. Common cards give steady boosts like more damage, faster shooting or more health. Rarer cards change how you play: Twin Shot, Piercing, Orbit Paint, Mine Layer, Frost Rounds, Buzzsaw, Ricochet and many more. Some cards combine into even stronger evolved versions.
Bosses
Six bosses take turns: Big Blob, Splatter King, The Prism, The Hive, Mama Blob and The Phantom. Each one moves and attacks differently, so learn their patterns and keep dashing.
Arenas
New arenas unlock as you level up: Paint Studio, Pillar Park (pillars block bullets), Crossroads (four rooms), Ice Rink (slippery floor), Neon Night and Lava Lake (lava burns everyone, blobs too).

Tips
- Keep moving in circles around the arena instead of backing into a corner.
- Pop the Healer blob first: it keeps the others alive.
- Save your dash for when you are surrounded or a boss charges.
- Early on, take cards that raise damage and fire rate. Defensive cards matter more after wave 10.
- In Boss Rush, legendary cards show up more often, so look out for them.
- Daily missions give extra coins. Check them in the menu before you play.
